Welcome to Essa!
Essa Township is the stretch of Simcoe County immediately west of Barrie, following the Nottawasaga River through farmland that turns into subdivision at Angus and back into farmland again. Angus is the township's largest community and sits next to CFB Borden, which gives Essa something almost no other market around here has: a steady posting cycle that moves families in and out on a schedule, alongside the usual Barrie commuter demand. South and east of that, Thornton, Baxter and Ivy are small crossroads communities on large lots, and the housing runs from new builds in Angus to century farmhouses on acreage. Prices here have historically sat below Barrie's for comparable space, which is much of the appeal.
